
뉴스노믹스 AJAY ANGELINA 기자 | At least 150 people have died during a crowd crush in Itaewon, South Korea, and other 149 have been injured when hundreds of people were packed in a huge crowd while celebrating the Halloween night. Among them, 26 foreign nationals are died and 15 injured belongs to Iran, China, the US, Japan, France, Australia, Norway, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Austria and Russia.
Foreign Minister Park Jin ordered officials to urgently notify relevant embassies in Seoul to varify the current status of foreign nationals trapped in this horrible crush.
"As the identity of the causalities is still being identified, there is a possibility that the number of foreign casualties will increase further,” said an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Added, “In close consultation with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, we will promptly make the necessary follow-up measures regarding foreign casualties.”
“Regarding foreign casualties, we will actively consult with diplomatic missions abroad to ensure that there is no shortage of support,” Prime Minister Han Deok-Soo said.
