Iranian president landed in Pakistan to enhance cooperation in diverse fields

Since 1947, Pakistan-Iran shares long stood bilateral ties when Iran became the first country to recognize Pakistan.

His Excellency Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran has landed on Islamabad airport of Pakistan today, said the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan on Monday.

 

Iranian President is on three days visit (April 22~24) to Pakistan along with his lady and a high-level delegation encompassing the Iranian Foreign Minister, other cabinet members and senior officials, said Pakistan’s foreign ministry in a statement on Sunday. 

 

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Pakistan Federal Minister for Housing and Works and H.E. Amb. Mudassir Tipu, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran warmly welcomed the Iranian President at Islamabad airport.

 

President Raisi of Iran is scheduled to meet with Mr. Shahbaz Sharif (the Prime Minister), Mr. Asif Ali Zardari (the president), Chairman Senate and Speaker, National Assembly. He also will visit Lahore and Karachi to meet with the provincial leadership. The officials of Pakistan and Iran are going to discuss regional & global developments as well as building new grounds in bilateral cooperation to combat the common threat of terrorism.

 

Iran’s visit to Pakistan is carrying an extensive agenda to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran ties and enhance co-operation in diverse fields including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people contacts.

Iranian president’s visit to Pakistan is an important opportunity to further strengthen ties between the two friendly nations.
