The sixth ‘Khanun’ typhoon is heading to Okinawa, Japan and Shanghai, China is expected to have some impact on the distant sea of Jeju, South Korea.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a typhoon ‘Khanun’ occurred with a strong wind around 3 am in the morning on 31st July, is heading towards north-northwest of Shanghai, China at a central pressure of 964 hPa (hectopascal), maximum wind speed of 37 m/s per second, and 133 km/h per hour in the sea about 740 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan.

‘Khanun’ will reach in the sea around 100km southwest of Okinawa, Japan at 3:00 am on the 2nd of next month with the central atmospheric pressure 940 hPa (hectopascal), maximum wind speed of 47 m/s per second, 169 km/h per hour, and 'very strong' wind forces are expected to sweep through Okinawa, Japan.

‘Khanun’ typhoon is expected to reach in the sea around 490km south-southeast of Shanghai, China at 3 am on the 4th of next month with central pressure of 950 hPa (hectopascal), strong wind speed of 43m/s per second,155km/h, and will have some impact on Seogwipo, Jeju, South Korea.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicts that neither inland Korea nor Jeju Island will fall within the strong wind radius.

However, it is important to know that the typhoon effects may slightly change depending on the position of

nearby barometric pressure, causing potential fluctuations in its impact on South Korea.

South Korea’s Meteorological Administration said, “the course of the typhoon may change somewhat depending on the position of the nearby barometer, so the domestic impact is flexible. We are watching the direct and indirect effects of the typhoon closely.”

The authorities are vigilantly monitoring the direct and indirect effects of ‘Khanun’ typhoon.

Previously, about 1.45 million people were displaced in southern Fujian of China that resulted in the exceeded damage of 3 billion yuan, including power outages in millions of households because of the typhoon ‘Eagle‘ on 27th and heavy rains until the 30th.
